Upcoming December 30th Fundraiser

We're excited about an upcoming fundraising event we have planned, so come on out and support the Books to Prisoners community!

On Monday, December 30th, we're the Charity of the Day at Oregon Public House, 700 NE Dekum St. You can come by any time between 11:30 AM - 9 PM to support Education Without Borders and Portland Books to Prisoners.

We will have an info table and ways to donate directly, but also every food and drink purchase made will support us as well. Oregon Public House (OPH) will donate a percentage of sales from December 30th to our organization!

OPH is a family-friendly philanthropub where patrons can enjoy good food and craft beer while simultaneously supporting great causes. Tell your friends and bring your family, and join us on December 30.

Recently, we've had two additional fundraisers, with great community support.

  • On Thursday, November 21st, we had a benefit music concert at Turn Turn Turn — our next-door neighbor at 8 NE Killingsworth. Local bands Wuhlux, RLLRBLL, and Bad Assets played to a lively crowd in support of Books to Prisoners.

  • On Saturday, November 9th, we raised $404 at our Letter Reading event. Members of the community read letters sent to us by prisoners, thanking volunteers for the books sent to them, and sharing how much the reading materials helped them get through hard times.

Portland Books to Prisoners wouldn't exist without the generous support of volunteers and the regional community. We are a division under the Oregon nonprofit Education Without Borders, which has the EIN number of 93-1298339.
